Sensei Alf Hopkins – 6th Dan

When Kobushi Judo Club was founded in 1976, Sensei Alf Hopkins (6^th Dan) agreed to take on the position of Club President.  Sensei and a number of other Dan grades who train with him come down to visit Kobushi Judo Club twice a year to run weekend courses for all its members.

Club Coaches & Assistants

Coaching at the club is currently led by Adam Stanley (2^nd Dan) Adrian Morgan (2^nd Dan) and Helen Byard (2^nd Dan)  They are supported in their training by Stephen Sawyers (1^st Kyu), Simon Tuong (1^st Kyu), Skye Kurylo (2^nd Kyu), Steve Broderick (3^rd Kyu), and Luke Kurylo (3^rd Kyu).  All of these instructors hold British Judo Council Fundamental Principles of Judo Level 1 and / or Level 2 Coaching Awards.

Kobushi Judo Club and all of its coaches and assistants are fully committed to safeguarding the well-being of all its members, particularly children. Instructors and volunteers will, at all times, show respect and understanding for the rights, safety and welfare of others and will conduct themselves in a way which reflects the principles of both the British Judo Council and this club.
