The Judoka (Judo Player) of the Year Award is presented to the player who it is felt by the Club Instructors to have continually progressed and developed in line with the essence and principles of Judo.
The winner of this award, which is presented at the end of each year, need not be the person who has won the most fights, attended the most training sessions or attained the highest grade. Like the Judoka of the Month Award it is awarded to the player who has continued to work at areas of difficulty, overcome a specific fear or has shown themselves to be a Judoka that behaves in the true spirit of Judo both on and off of the mat.
