Sensei's Award
The Sensei's Award is presented to a Judoka (judo player) who it is felt by the Dan Grade Instructors of the club to be a Judoka who has continually progressed and developed in line with the essence and principles of Judo. The winner of these awards, which is only presented on special occasions, need not be a person who has won the most fights, attended the most training sessions or attained the highest grade. Like the Judoka of the Month and year Awards it is awarded to a player who has continued to work at areas of difficulty, overcome a specific fear or has shown themselves to be a Judoka that behaves in the true spirit of Judo both on and off of the mat.
This Award was last presented on Friday 14th December 2007 to Steve Broderick. In the sort time that he had been attending the club Steve has come to earn the respect of all the instructors and members and has without exception always work to the best of his ability and has in every way shown himself to understand the true meaning and spirit of Judo. Congratulations. |
